Default Help! Help! F150

Hey i have recently just go a new project truck. It is a 1986 Regular Cab Stepside F150. The only thing i know about it so far is that it is a 6 cylinder. I was hoping to see if yall had any info on this truck. Any info at all would be a big help.
Thanks

well it means its a 300 inline 6. If taken care of can last hundreds of thousands of miles. 4x2 or 4x4?

you can take the vin number and decode it with the help of a chiltons/hanes, this will tell you the engine transmission color tires etc. Also you should check the rear end for the gear ratios, theyll be on the identification tag. The front and rear gears must be the same for normal 4x4 operation.

well i know that it is a tourqy s.o.b compared to my 5.0 302 the inline 6 after the 70's the hp rating was differential radther than flywheel and puts out about 185-195 hp at the flywheel the inline six is a great motor with alot of potential!!

they are both small block fords and will both bolt up to the same tranny. I wouldnt change it to a v8. But thats my opinion.
