Having some starter problems
where would they be shorted together at?
I have tried the ignition switch by hand.
Is there a relay that might be bad??
I can check the solenoid again, but when i switched it out with a new one it did the same thing.

No, there is no relay. The wires can be shorted together just about anywhere they touch.
Here's a temporary solution, unless you decide to leave it that way. Remove the small start wire from the solenoid. Run a new wire from that terminal to the cab where you will be mounting a switch. Use a momentary switch, not a toggle. That's the push button kind that releases when you stop pushing the button. Then find power somewhere that has power only when the key is on. Hook those wires to the switch, and now you have a new start button. You will still have to turn the key on so the truck will start, and to unlock the steering. Then you can trace the shorted wires in your leisure.
