ok so im trying to find the part on autozone.com to get a general idea on price and can't find it. what would it be listed under?

 

the solenoid is about a $15 dollar part.... it might not even cost that much.... i know exactly what your talking about with the ignition switch.... did yours have a steel rod going to it (looks kinda like a coat hanger)....the one i replaced did, and you might wanna check and see if the rod is getting stuck on anything, because that rod connects to the key switch, and thats what starts your truck....i may be wrong with the steel rod, but thats how it was on my dads ol' dodge ramcharger....

 

I guess you just have to reconnect a starter solenoid control wire. But i can't tell what color it is.

 

i didnt see anything the resembled a coat hanger lol. But do you know what the solenoid is listed under?

 

what year is your truck, motor, 4x4 or 4x2?

just ask for a solenoid....thats what they're called...

ok havent go the part yet. but it is making a weird dinging noise. there is the normal lights on, door open ding, and then there is a whole different that i have never hear going off as well. any thoughts???

 

ok so its not the solenoid. it has to be a wire. the switch works fine, solenoid works fine, any chance it could be a part on the starter?
