Default Governer type effect

Just solved my egr problem, yea, but I am having another issue. When I accelerate in especially 1st and second, the engine reaches a certain rpm and then feels like it flattens out, like it has a governer on it. any ideas? 92 f150 4.9 4x4

or maybe timing? What's your base timing set at. I've also read that the injector pulses start to drop out/reduce around 90 mph to disallow any higher speed. It seems to have some credibility as my truck will run through both tanks at a strong 85 mph but strains at maintaining 90 or more mph. It also accelerates strongly till 85 mph, then goes flat at 90mph, even at full throttle. I've been meaning to ask about this!

Not sure if I want to. Last time my speed was verified, I barely managed to talk him out of taking me in & towing the truck as it was. The tow driver didn't want to tow it w/ a 700 lb. motorcycle strapped down to the bed. It was almost $6oo. for the ticket. But "if" I did want to?????

those super tuners you can get to plug into the ECM that are 400.00 and some change can set those off or raise them...same delios are used for setting the VSS and tires size changes and gear swaps...most all of them have the option to disable the speed limiter...

my GM does it by tranny gear manipulation...

Another possibility to toss into the mix is a restricted catalytic converter.

So... we are talking about the "performance chips" here right? Hypertech, Motorvation, JET, etc....?!?!?

I was just looking at them today. I'm thinking about paying for a custom chip from Motorvation and having them bump my shift points as well...
