Default gears

gearing up for 37"s on my 94 i have a ford 8.8 in the rear and dana 44 ifs in the front im thinkin 4.88 or else 5.13 im tryin to consider porformance and gas milage i dont know how well the 4.88 will spin tires that big what do you advise

Welp, I have 4:88 in mine with 38's. For mpg, once you lift it, kiss it goodbye. No matter what the ratio, the mpg is still bad. I get about 10. THe only way to beat this is if you have a diesel and keep the stock ratio. Mine before the gear change, all the tranny did is shift all the time. THe gears fixed that. At 60mph, mine runs about 2k on the tach...

welp i think yr doin pretty good, i get about 12-13 on the highway wit my straight piped 5.8L 31 inch tires, so 10 mpg wit those tires is pretty damn good

i also burn about a quart of oil every 400 miles or so, and its running rich

i'm running 35's and 4.56 gears and its about 2k on the tach at 65mph. Its great for off road but its annoying on the freeway. here in southern california, everyone does 80. if you do a lot of highway driving, 37s and 4.56s should be fine. If you're doing a lot of off roading, go with the 4.88. don't bother with the 5.13

and the stock dana 44 and the 8.8 will spin those just fine with the lower gears

how much is it to put 4.56 or 4.10 gears in the 94 ford? roughly. i plan on putting on 35's and was wondering.

It costs about $500-$700 in parts and about the same for the labor cost.
