Default Fuel Tank

Hello Everybody, I would like an opinion. I'm putting in a new fuel tank in my
96' f150 (rear tank), should I put something on it? Thinking about Rubberized
Undercoat, or maybe even tank paint, but is it really worth it. I do plan on
removing the Bed every spring as I have always done with my pickups, so
rust isn't really a concern. Let me know what you would do. Thanks

I take my Beds off because I live in New Hampshire, and have lost way too many Frames,
Fuel Tank's, and Brake Lines to rust. I take it off and inspect everything, pressure wash
everything and do any repairs that are needed (great time for Shocks and Exhaust work)
With this Truck I will most likely hand rub wheel bearing grease onto every part of the
Frame and under the Bed. Plus your Bed Bolts never rust up, sounds like a lot of work but it's only takes about two hours with a couple of people. My Brother usually brings His
Truck and we do both, and we are done by lunch time.

Gotcha.. but couldnt you just spray everything with undercoating?

(not sure the serious effects of salt as we use sand and liquid de-icers in our area)

Undercoat doesn't stop rust, plus I'd have to do alot more cleaning of the Frame.
You should see what Road Salt does, it's pretty bad. I do like
Undercoat, but it has it's faults, used car dealers are known
for using Undercoat to hide things they would rather you didn't
see.
