Default Rough Idle and bouncing spedo/abs light on.

The truck:

91 F150 with a 302 4X4 e4od. Engine has around 6000 KM on it, replaced all o-rings on the injectors when I rebuilt the new engine. I checked the fuel pressure at idle and it was 30 psi steady, however when I pressed the pressure release button it let out air so I may have not used the tool corectly. If Not i will try again tomorrow.

Truck has had the idle problem since I bought it, was dropping revs by about 100 rpm and would cause the entire truck to shake. No rhythm to it so I ruled out plugs. I cleaned the IAC and it seemed to stop, still dropped revs a little bit but nowhere near as noticeable.

The ABS light came on while driving home from school, and I haven't been able to get rid of it. I changed the brakes all around (drums and hardware, calipers up front as well as rotors, ran new brake lines all around) and the master cylinder has fluid and the float is not sticking.

I went to a wreckers today and bought the newest looking IAC I could find. Cleaned her up and put it in. I unscrewed the electrical part from the iac body so as to not get carb cleaner in it. I also grabbed a newer speed sensor off the rear dif of a 95 or 96 f150.

I put the IAC in as well as the VSS and disconnected the battery for 15 minutes to clear the KAM. Started her and and she did the same thing as always. Then the ABS and emergency light came on. The idle has improved tho and no longer drops, so I cured one out of the three. Here is a video of the issues, you can see the bouncing spedo and the rough start as well. Cheers boys.

*edit* you can see the abs light turn off then back on when the truck runs for a second. Anyone know how to pull ABS codes? Theres a plug right beside the ECU for ABS.

i didn't notice the bouncing spedo, but the rough start i could. your spedo looked fine from what i could tell, at least yours goes to 180, mine only goes to 85 (but will go well past 85 )

any new codes?

edit* why is your parking brake light on? that isn't part of the abs warning light is it? i hope you didn't drive with it on if it's not..

Just ran out and pulled it now. Will do a KOER tomorrow

KOEO: 111

Memory: 334 DPFE or EVP circuit above the closed limit of 0.67 volts.

I've replaced the EVP but am unsure of the cleaning methods for the EGR. I get this code every now and then but the startup is constant even when I don't have the code in stored memory.

Oh and the spedo, if you look close enough, is in KM/H not MP/H. You can see the MP/H in blue underneath the white. I probably shouldn't say anything and just let you guys run with it haha.

Ford tuff the parking brake light comes on at the same time as the ABS if you watch. The parking brake is most definitely not on, I haven't put it on since I replaced the parking brake cables a year ago when I did the rest of the brakes.

Ya my dash is covered in bondo dust from the body work I have been doing hah. I can't find my armour all wipes so right now I'm driving a dusty truck.

I meant to add in the original post that I still had the bouncing after I replaced the VSS, maybe I grabbed another bad one from the wreckers? I only had two choices for trucks that had cruise control, and the other one was surrounded by weeds on top of broken up bricks. Didn't want to lay down near that one.

Heres another video of the spedo bouncing, little clearer. Should have turned off the radio, it drowns out my exhaust!

your EVP will go bad. my friend has had to replace his about 3 times now. they're not sealed the greatest so they can get moisture in them and corrode on the inside.

pull off your EGR and clean the entire assemble including the EVP

might wanna check your DPFE.

this should help you also, www.fordfuelinjection.com

oh, the bounce isn't too bad. if it were mine i could live with it, but that just me. it's not as bad as my brother inlaws mustang, it bounces 10 mph. that i can't. he got to where he could tell how fast he was going by his rpm's, so he took out his gear until he got the time to get his new one in.

The bounce isn't bad. When I first bought the thing and drove it down the road I loved it, felt like I was driving an old car. Wasn't until later that I realized it meant something was wrong with the VSS, Which made me thing that it had something to do with the ABS light being stuck on. The idea that it was the VSS was further proved to me when I pulled a converter clutch lockup error and a bad VSS error when I ran the codes one day.

I'll be doing this tomorrow, do I want to clean out the connector that runs to the intake as well or just unscrew the EGR from that and go from there. I'm excited, this will give me another chance to use my new favorite fluid (after WD-40) carb cleaner!
