I didn't replace the races last time because they felt smooth. I will be this time! I was also told to find."timminey" brand.....I think that's what they were called. It's raining so I won't be able to get on this until Friday. Another 90 miles of driving between now and then. Just being careful.

First make sure you are using a high temp grease. Adjust the wheel bearings as folllows

Tighten the bearing down until is is snug

Spin the hub in the forward position while tightening the spindle nut to approximately 30 ft pounds. This will seat the bearings.

Loosen the spindle nut 1/4 turn. Then, using your hand, tighten the nut until it is snug. Install the nut lock and cotter pin. Readjust the spindle nut if necessary to line up spindle hole and nut.

check that the hub spins freely with no noticeable free play. If you find free play, repeat the above procedure.

I thought you torque them up to a high torque like 80 or 90 all the while rotating in the forward direction. The loosen something like 270*, then tighten to 10-15ft lbs. This is going form memory.. Surely amongst all of us F150 gurus, one of us has it. I have it for a 90 at home in my manual. Unit has a 95 though and I thought Ford changed up the locking device in there somewhere.
