Default Front Spindle

I think I've eaten another set of front wheel bearings. Starting to get some roar out of the front end. For the heck of it, I started looking for front spindles at the parts stores and cannot find a source or even pricing. Any ideas?

Maybe a salvage yard-pro. I would have to wonder why both sides are giving you issues, maybe an adjustment problem? Don't start throwing money at your problem until you're sure it's the solution.

I'm going to put the micrometer to my spindles and then check some at the salvage yard to see if there are any differences. I wouldn't mind replacing them if need be. The only issue with my truck are the tires and now the bearing roar again. Guess I'll throw in some high dollar bearing's when I tear it down. I go though a set about every year. Not sure why unless the spindles are out of spec.

Most spindles are only machined where the bearings ride and if the spindle is bent, it would probably be in the section that is not machined. Any spindles that I have replaced were due to lack of grease or adjustment issues and the spindle is blue from heat. What do you see when you tear everything down? Do the wheels every feel hot after a long ride?

The last time I pulled the bearings, the spindles were warm and not discolored.

Yeah unless they are discolored, scored or warped from heat they should be fine. How have you been adjusting the wheel bearings? I also find some different brads of bearing grease makes a huge difference. I use the Lucas HD grease on everything.

I've been snugging them up and backing off a 1/4. Always done that on all my vehicles. This is the 1st one that makes the roaring noises. The wheels have no play and spin freely.....the last time I changed the bearings that is. I'm on a 72 hour shift, so I can't get to them until Monday

Yup do my wheel bearings the same way. I'm probably due for re-packing them, been about 3 years since I removed the front rotors.

I always spin the rotor and snug them up that they just drag, i set drum brakes the same way, that might be your next mpg.
