Default engine swap

I have a 95 f150 with a 5.0, and i am putting in a 87 5.0, the 87 has a 351w cam in it which changes the timing from the 95 engine. I have the engine in and it runs but not very well. it idles fine but it has no power to climb a small hill. the compression is good on all 8 cyl. the question that i have is; do the injectors all fire at the same time? i was told that they do and they dont by somebody else, i need some help on this it has given me a bad headache.

If your truck is an automatic (MAF) truck they fire individually. If it's a stick (MAP) they fire in two banks of four.

it is a auto, do you think it would work to switch the injector wires around to the right cyl for the 87 engine?

The '95 5.0 firing order is the same as the '87 5.8. You said (or so I thought) you changed the firing order with a different cam.

Then the injectors were correct and you need to change them back.
