I was under the impression that 11/111 were pass codes.

Count the flashes and translate it into a number. Short pause next number long pause next code.

it's this that's got me stumped:
1 11 1 11 11 1 11
the scanner's manual says that it reads out codes twice. am i getting 212 "212 c Loss of IDM input to processor/SPOUT circuit grounded"?

Does your Timing change from 10 BTDC w/ SPOUT plug out, after you replace the SPOUT plug?

SPOUT" in" should add additional ECU advance to your 10 BTDC base time.

Check/ need to know.

Being a Continuous memory code only & if in fact you're showing additional advance to base time w/ SPOUT in, I would say disconnect your battery for a minimum of 5 minutes to clear the KAM (kept adaptive memory). Then put some miles on it before re-testing.
