EGR Problems!
1995 f150 5.0, 4x4 blah blah blah. I just threw a set of longtubes on, extended my 02 sensor into the new Y pipe, but I'm still having one minor issue.. The EGR tube which once fed into my exhaust when I still had my manifolds, now has nowhere to live, it's not attached right now, but I hear this can cause some major problems, plus the Check Engine light irritates me
Is there any way you guys know of to fix this? Or will it even make a difference? Thanks!

The EGR tube fed into your exhaust ? Not usually.
Are you maybe thinking of the line for the air pump ?
The air pump feeds fresh air to your cats to reduce noxious gases. The EGR reintroduces unburnt fuel to the intake to reburn it.
2 different things, the air pump line missing shouldn't cause an engine problem, just make it harder to pass emissions, I would think.
So the check engine light may well be unrelated. Time to get out a paper clip and read the codes so you can figure out why your check engine light is on.

I have a 95 5.0 like the OP and unless he has a non stock egr setup the egr mounts to the upper intake and the metal line the screws to the bottom of it goes underneath the upper intake and screws into the lower intake. It's the pipe circled in Yellow.

The tube was located on the very backside of the motor, had a little turkey baster looking deal attached to one side through rubber hose, and then a steel tube which fed to my exhaust. Excuse my way of speaking, it's just how I explain things.

Ok, it does sound like you're talking about the air pump lines. That line not being hooked up shouldn't cause you to get a CEL. I took everything off, plugged the ports in the back of the heads, and put an idler where the smog pump used to be, and I have no codes and no CEL.
I bet the insufficient flow code is probably being caused by a bad EGR or possibly a vacuum leak in the line to the egr. If it's not getting enough vacuum the egr wo't work properly and won't give sufficient flow.

I scanned the codes and got a 311, and a 332, 332 being insufficient egr flow, and the 311, was the thermoactor air system problem, "no operation during self run engine test" any idea how to fix that? What is it for that matter??
Well, popped my hood to take a gander in there, and apparently in the hurry of putting everything back together so I could hear my headers I forgot to hook the little red and black vacuum lines back up to my evaporative emissions canister, got em back on, now just to see what happens 😁 hoping for the best.
