Default which ECM?

wanna put a C6 in my 93 f150 that had an e4OD. do i have to get a different ECM? will my truck run fine without changing anything? codes r no worry just as long as it runs ok. where is best place to get one?

Why a C6? Why not an AOD? I doubt you'll like losing overdrive.

Oh, yeah. I don't think you'll have to do anything but, swapping the ECU for one out of a manual transmission truck would be best.

i happen to have a 2wd c6 and the driveshaft out of my buddies 250 he scrapped. i just want to know if it will start and run decent if i change nothing but the hardware. cause its temporary just so i can move the truck.

It will work just fine. There will be codes but it doesn't matter. If you were to leave it that way then best would be to use a manual transmission computer but you don't have to.

For long term you will want to find either the manual or a computer with the aod, since it is not computer controlled. For short term you can run the c6 with the computer likely going into the safe mode, base timing open loop injection and other limp home features.

I'm pretty sure the engine will run fine without going into safe mode. The transmission uses information from the engine but is controlled separately.

i figured as much. i can keep the MLP plugged in and tucked away somewhere so it starts. and it dont matter how it runs cause its just temporary. (hopefully)

ok update......i just realized i can get ahold of a (i think 1987) bronco with in-line 6. it has aod and t-case i can use. think i might go that route. i will keep u guys updated

we will find out soon enough. in about 2 weeks i will be putting in the c6 until i can get ahold of the aod.
