from my understanding they didnt put the E4OD behind the 351 5.8L engine...

look at the pan it will say METRIC on it if it is a E4OD and it will be rectangle and long...where as the C6 will be more square...

im pretty sure its an e40d thats what a tranny shop told me but i also think they are the ones that put the weld in there when i told them i wasnt goin to pay $1800 to have it rebuilt when the rebuid kit was $200 here is a photo of where its welded is down by access hole plug

still doesnt look welded to me...the weld line would be consistent from beginning to end...and it would fuse into the pump lip and it clearly doesnt...

that is more casting than anything....a weld line wouldnt get skinny and still be smooth and not touch the pump lip...

I will have to crawl under my truck and see what I have. There was a transmission website, can't find it now, that listed what transmissions were in each year/engine F150 and it showed mine as E4OD.

That is not a weld my friend......it's difficult to weld cast aluminum let alone a tranny shop to do that...and as already said the bead is not consistent no way that that is a weld. use this chart to ID your tranny.
