Default Dragging a anchor

Whats Up Guys!

I have a 92' 150 w/4.9l 300 six - 4x4 e4od tran. I am not a mechanic, but get by. I just had the e4od replaced, new exhaust, replaced just about every sensor and component on the truck and it still feels like I am dragging an anchor behind it. No get up and go, and sluggish. My old 89' f250 w/the same engine and a utility bed, ran with power in its ***. I keep getting the check engine light on and occasionally dies at a stop. I am thinking a fuel problem? Maybe bad injectors? Also, I replaced the master, brakes, lines and occasionally get the abs light on and no abs. Does anyone have a clue to what I might need to do to get the power back and the mpg up. I can also smell a hint of fuel in the cab on hard acceleration, but can not find any leaks? HELP!

is it efi or carbbed? check the injectors for leaks pull codes just because. replace the fuel filter clean it with some seafoam. if your abs light comes on that might mean your abs system is cooked.

another thing i thought about is you might have different gear ratio in the back? that would slow it down some.

Check for brake drag.

Check fuel pressure, possibly a bad fuel pressure regulator. Pull the Vac hose off it & check for fuel at the hose.

It's a efi they went to full fuel injection in 87 or 88. And It might be injectors. But sounds more like a brake issue. But I might be wrong.

you can still get a carbed f150 all the way up till the 2000s

it could be brakes considering the abs system light is turning on and off.

You have a brake issue or it wouldent throw a ABS light. But if it were the brakes holding you back you would have smoke and the smell of hot brakes after a short distance. Yoy need to check for codes before you start throwing parts at it. An inexpensive code reader can be had for around $100 and is a great tool to have if you drive or work on any computer controled vehicle. Bubbabud 2011 XLT SCAB EEEEKO boost

That's what I'm wandering. As far as I know they discontinued the carberated engines in 80's. And went with injectors. Now dodge and gm had throttle body injected up to 98 I think

'87 and up is fuel injected except the '87 5.8 is carbed. 5.0s got fuel injection before '87.
