Do you have trouble counting to 9? Because that's the highest number you ever have to count to (although be fair, you will have to do it more than once). Most people can reliably count that high.

The proper code reading procedures are documented in the site linked above by Just Call me Sean or in the book I linked. You can either have the minimal material for free, spend $22 to get NOTHING more, or spend a few dollars to get a book that will walk you through testing the whole system to find the problem. Seems like an easy call to me. Even if you disagree, how does posting a clip from an Adam Sandler movie help your argument?

Sometimes enough codes are displayed in a single reading to fill a lottery ticket. Personally, first time/ every time accuracy, numerical digital display & internal memory are more than worth $22. Proper sensor/ component function testing procedure are just a google click away. Perhaps closer as a Forum member.

The question is, would he prefer those benefits more than $22.

...and yes, on a good day, I've been known to count into the double digits, almost effortlessly.

I'd be very interested to see these proper testing procedures you refer to as being one click away.

Was this an engine running test? I'm doing this from memory (book is at home), but I believe there's a point (flash of the CEL to notify you) that you're supposed to solidly goose the throttle and the system checks for the TPS going above a certain set point, RPM increase, etc. If you missed that, this would be one of the codes you'd see.

Edit - scratch that, 123 is above range, not below. Sounds like your TPS may be adjusted wrong. Again, looking at the book will help immensely on this. I'll be home in a few hours and can grab the info.
