Default Code 44 Issues

Does anyone know how to troubleshoot a code 44 on a 1987 F-150 5.0? Also, I put my hand over the inlet to the air pump, so I know the air pump is not the problem. I believe the code 44 may help in figuring out why my truck sometimes likes to stall, mainly when warmer.

The only parts the computer sees are the control solenoids.

Thanks. Is it possible for one of those sensors to somehow be causing my stalling? I'm hoping this may help fix my stalling issue. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that when it stalls I can normally start it right back up.

Check and/or clean the IAC.

Did that already. It also has recently replaced fuel pumps, fuel reservoir (I shouldn't have opened it), fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, TFI module, hall-effect sensor, ignition coil, & spark plugs. I also used a thin metal plate to block off my EGR, but that has no effect on my stalling problems.

Code 44 is the Thermactor system. Likely issue is vacuum lines broken in the AIR system. All of mine were broken and were easy fixes replacing with 5/32" rubber vacuum tubing.

Here's some pics of the lines and routing that helped me when I was replacing them. They're made of cheap plastic and become brittle and break easily.

Thanks, that looks easier to follow than guessing where the lines go through my wire loom. I have no idea why they have to be in there, it would be easier to just run it directly to where it needs to go. Let's see where I get with this.

My guess was they ran them behind to keep them off the intake and to keep as much heat shielding as possible. I used heat resistant looms to run mine through as one runs down next to the EGR connection at the right exhaust manifold and was melting repeatedly.

OK, from what I can tell, the vacuum diaphragm in the valve on the back of the engine does not hold a vacuum. I am talking about the valve the yellow vacuum line runs to. All the vacuum lines themselves seemed to be working OK. Could this part cause the computer to throw the code, possibly?
