It means someone probably forgot the replace your spout plug after checking or adjusting your base timing. You are not getting, nor will you get any additional ECU timing advance added to your base time untill it is replaced.

Because you didn't mention your engine or year, in addition to not posting that info in your profile, I can't tell you where to look for it!

It may also mean someone checked the timing and didn't reset the computer to remove the spout code that results from it.

See if the small grey plug is missing, or not plugged in all the way.

If you have a timing light, check timing. That will confirm weather you in fact, have an open spout circuit, by the results.

Ok I just checked it and it's there. I pulled the gray little piece and put it back. Would there be any other reason why that could of popped up. I do notice a misfire on the truck but not all the time.

Very true. If an active code, it's probably missing. A continuous memory code only, then the KAM needs to be cleared. The circuit is being locked out by the ECU.

Purposely removing & leaving it out, is an old trick some mechanics use to eliminate a "Ping problem", rather than addressing the real cause, which is usually much more labor intensive. However, this robs you of any further ECU timing advance.
