Default Code 211--PIP

Ok I searched but "PIP" and "211" are too short for the search engine to use.
What exactly is a PIP and where is it? I understand from the little I can find is that it isn't the ignition pick up but another sensor/devise.
Thanks
Darrell

Profile ignition pickup. It's in the distributor.

OK so is it the ignition pick up module?

Other bits of info I am picking up off of the web are mentioning it could be a cam or crank sensor also. Granted they aren't referring to the P/U engine but a car engine.

It is sounding like this could explain why the engine at times refuses to start and will shut down and restart sometimes while driving.

It is the ignition pick up, the cam sensor, also known as a Hall effect sensor.

No. On it's way out, intermittency many times eludes coding. It is a continuous memory code "only". Got to be pretty consistent to land there.

Many prefer to replace the Distributor, rather than remove/ disassemble/ replace PIP / reassemble/ reinstall.

Nobody want's to take the time to post truck info in their profile...or on their post. Year & engine! How hard is that?

Is your TFI Module(ICM), distributor mounted or remote mount?
