Changing fuel filter
Trying to change the fuel filter in my dads 94 f150. I got the tool but i cant get the lines off. I sprayed pb blaster in there pulled on them hard while pushing the tool inward and even tried using a screwdriver for leverage but i cant get the damn lines off. I want to do my 95 too but im sure it will be just as PITA. Am i doing something wrong i dont see why there so hard to get off.

Which tool did you get? The metal one or the plastic? I found the plastic one worked better. Makes sure it's all the way in as far as it will go. You also might be able to twist the filter a little bit to help break it loose.

The metal one. I have had good luck with it before doing gas tanks and such. The hose will move in and out a little bit until the little flaps stop it. I cant seem to get the tool in far enough to push the flaps back like they should

I did one a few years ago and slid up underneath it to get a really good grip. When it broke loose, I turned my head to keep from getting a face full of gas. Instead, I little bit went straight down into my ear canal. I was fine for about 10 seconds, and then, the absolute worst pain I've ever experienced. I've had some horrific injuries in my life. Compound fractures, emergency chest tube... even got cut out of a vehicle. This pain was worse than all of them. Be careful!

Oh wow. Sorry to hear. Ya im afraid of the gas getting all over me also. And i cant really seem to twist either with the tool in place so is that what you meant or without the tool

With the tool. Can you get a large pair of channel locks on it? If so, don't crank the thing so hard it twists the line, but a little leverage might help break it loose.
I know people swear by pb blaster, but I haven't had much luck with it. I can't recall what the stuff is I've been using, but it seems to work better. It's a house brand of something at AutoZone.

Tried it again with no luck. I am unable to brake anything free. I can twist the line just fine and it pulls in and out a little bit with the tool not in place but i can move the filter with it in the steel cage

Sometimes those tabs bend or curl a bit. Take tin snips and cut filter away, this allows you to look in at the line straight and see if any things bent or what's holding it up. Take a pick or a small screwdriver straighten them up and it will come right off.

Push in, clamp, pull out. ( hope it works)
