I had to use a screwdriver and press against the filter to leverage pushing the metal tool in further. twisting on it didnt help until i used the screwdriver, then cake. As said before, its not going all the way into the retainer

Do the plastic tools come in a set or do you gotta buy them separate.

 

Always something simple that give the most headaches. Might be easier to just replace the ends on the fuel lines. Hopefully your connector isnt damaged when you finally get it loose

 

How do you change the ends without replacing the lines

 

well now that i think about it, im not sure you can without replacing the line. I know they sell the teeth ring (the ring that you are trying to release) in the help section. Im sure you have, but have you tried pushing the line and filter together while your working the tool in there?

You should be able to go to the parts store and get a union that has a nylon hose with the quick connect already attached. Cut the steel line and clamp the nylon end to it, and quick connect the filter as normal. Im sure they would have a steel one as well that you could just use a compression union to attach the steel to steel. compress together and quick connect filter.

 

The one I have been using for a few years came in a set. I purchased it once when I couldn't get the metal one to work. I had it off in less than a minute with the plastic one.
