brake problems

Default brake problems

i have a 1995 f150 4x4 everytime i just barely hit the brakes the rear tires lock up any clue on what could be causing this to happen?

When mine did that, there was a pin hole in my brake line. The one that goes across the rear axle. If thats not your problem, then make sure the rear wheel cylinders aren't leaking. And if that's not the problem, then bleed the whole brake system.

i checked all of that and bleed the brakes and it's still doing it.

Sounds like the anti lock is gone.

Could be the proportioning valve. It screws to the rear circuit of the brakes on the master cylinder.

i thought the anti lock breaks were only in the front?

Only on the rear, and I've never seen them work on any of our trucks.

mine work i can tell you that. almost took out a civic today with that said my front bumper is head height
check for codes i think theirs a code for the abs

it could be. theres quite a few things that can cause that thou its best to check the simpler ones before replacing the entire brake system
