I think that is a sensor if some sort. I have one of those things but it's not in the intake.

Yah i spose but i didnt wana buy the whole kit i was just gona get a maf adapter and a filter i might just make my own hole.

Be careful what kit you buy. Some kits have the hole for the intake sensor, some are just a bracket that holds it on the outside where its exposed to the elements.

When I built mine I made a seal tight hole on my ABS pipe intake for the sensor with no CEL

Way to make the title so small I have to bust out my needle fingers to select it on the touchscreen. ha

Intake air temp? is that only on an MAF engine?

its one of the things OBDII systems use to monitor incoming air temp.
