Default 94 problems

So we went mudding today and I had to pull out my buddies
I put it in park afterward and now I can't move it out of park unless I turn it on and press brake turn it off and put it in neutral then I can change my gears
My abs light is flashing now on my dash

So what up? Anyone else got this problem?

You don't have to press the brake then turn it off you just turn the key one click forward and put it in neutral. Your brake lights aren't working. Check the fuse.

Nah I mean I have to. my gears won't change unless I do this.
I mean the gear selector won't budge if its on and in park.
I have to turn it on turn it back one click to kill the engine then I can change to nuetral and turn it back on

As soon as it hits park it locks up

It will come out of park if you don't turn the key on, that's how it works. One click to unlock it, one more click locks it back up because you power up the lock. The way I described is how you bypass the lock.

Well then somethings wrong,
I get in my truck turn the truck one click with my foot on brake no gear change
I turn it on and my brake presses in
I turn it off one click with foot on brake and it will change

I might be misinterpreting what you're saying
I can get around the parking brake but its just annoying
One of those if it ain't broke don't fix it moments ey?

well maybe thats what he is saying, its supposed to do what your describing, but its not. Which would mean there's something wrong with the locking mech? Who knows, when it comes to the transmission I'm as useful as a 6 year old.

Yea the process isn't too important, but it might mean there's a problem with the locking mechanism. Check the brake lights first.

Just an update... I finally got around to checking that fuse (I'm lazy as a fat coon dog)
And I believe it was number 13 in my box
Now my interlock is working again and I'm all proper...
Thanks y'all
