I have a 87 f150 302 and it has started to start missing. The emission light comes on and misses a lot untill I give it more fuel to bring the rpms up. Then it stops after the rpms come up. And most of the time the light goes off and stops. What would be the problem and how should I fix it? Thanks in advance

What light? '87 doesn't have a "check engine" light. It does have an "engine" light, which is completely different.

 

What is the difference btw. In my 88 bronco it has a cel and the cel light comes on and the engine light comes on but i only get one code for the egr

 

"Check engine" is for the computer, for codes. "Engine" means low oil pressure or overheating. Might come on for charging problems too, not sure.

 

What my truck is doing is the emission light on the instrument panel comes on and then the truck misses a couple of times and then the light goes off and stops missing.

 

What emissions light?

 

The dash has a orange word pop up saying emiss
