This was mentioned: $80 OBDLink MX Bluetooth, but looks like it's only windows based. Can an iPhone be used, and what device would be used to work with it? THanks.

The updates are not able to be made via the iOS or Android versions of Forscan, only through the windows client. This is covered in the first post of this thread along with all the other information you need.

I know this isn't a request thread but while testing maybe we could look out for a subtle change in Sync 2. My '14 Explorer when playing an MP3 would have a bar that indicated the time left in the current track. In the F150 the bar only shows the time elapsed on the current audio track. This drives me nuts! I know how long I've been listening to the track, tell me how much time is left! If anyone is testing just be on the lookout for this small change in behavior

Ok, I'm new to this forum, but I did try searching for my question with no luck. I see there is a Forscan Lite App available for my iPhone. It says it is to be used with the ELM327 Wifi adapter. Would this program and adapter allow me to read and program my 2016 F150? (The app description does indicate it can read and reset DTC for all modules and Read sensors and other data (PIDs) from all modules. My specific need at this time is to turn on the tow instrumentation in my truck that does not have the Tow package, however I have installed an aftermarket hitch, brake controller and 7 pin wiring harness (which is plugged into the Ford Harness at the back of the truck.) Thanks in advance.

You can't do this with the mobile versions of FORScan. Read Post #1 in this thread for what you need; it has all the information to get you up and running & ready to program your truck.

You can read error codes with an iPhone (like any OBDII scanner), but ONLY the Windows PC application can make changes.

Unsure if this is of interest but I thought I would share. I tried to program my FX4 to have the temperature readings above the gauges. When I used the "easy" PID page, the program told me the write was successful and to cycle the Start button. The IPC rebooted but the temperatures did not appear.

When I went to exit the truck, a window popped up asking what alarm protection I wanted to select. I reconnected Forscan, wrote the original disabled selections to the IPC and cycled the Start button. When I went to exit the truck, the same alarm message came up. I used the menu to toggle the "Ask on exit" setting to off.

I then decided to program the temperature settings with the "Advanced" mode. Worked first try. :-) I then programmed the relock feature. Worked first try.

Not sure why the "easy" method didn't work for me, but that always seems to be the case.

Original values : 720-07-01 8409 8AA0 6046
Modified values : 720-07-01 8409 8E50 60FA

Anyway, thought you might like to know my experience. Thanks for the detailed write-up and for sharing your work.

I experienced the same thing where the easy method did not work to display the temps. I had to use the advanced method which did the trick.

Also, each time I made a change via Forscan, certain settings like the alarm had to be reset like you mentioned. Same with turning the ambient lighting back on.

I am thinking I made a mistake. I simply copied the values from the Google Docs spreadsheet from Page 1 of this thread. After reading more today, I think I should have made the change differently.

Original values : 720-07-01 8409 8AA0 6046
Modified values : 720-07-01 8409 8E50 60FA

Looking at some other posts, I am thinking I should have wrote something along these lines :

720-07-01 8409 8A50 60?? (?? because I am unsure how to go about computing the checksum).

I belive you only needed to update one of the values. I had a similar question (see pg 171 / post #1702) about the checksum but the Forscan gurus informed me it would automatically calculate it which it did.
