E-Fan Issues
So last fall I put these fans in my truck:

About December the controller went out and it was replaced under warranty. Everything seemed to be working okay until last Friday when the fans stopped coming on at all.
I could remove the relay and jump across two terminals to get the fans to come on, but they wouldn't come on with the relay in place.
So I got a new relay and tried it, but still have the same issue.
I tried a different temp sensor hooked into the system and dunked it into boiling water and the fans would not come on.
I've adjusted the controller up and down and nothing seems to work.
I'm about ready to tear the whole thing out and put my old mechanical fan back on. But to do that I'd have to buy another new single row radiator because I put in a new two row when my original one sprang a leak!
Anyone have any ideas or advice, or words of encouragement?!!!

I put in a new fan controller:

And it seemed to do the trick. Put in a new radiator cap while I was at it. After all the fuss about electric fans, I'm still not sure if it's worth it. I did gain a couple of MPG, but it sure has been a pain! But time will tell I guess!

i was going to say it sounds like your controller went bad again...
i did the cheapo route others have done here, installing the twin shrouded mopar 300 fan assembly, with the autozone 15 controller..works awesome once the thermostat is adjusted. cost 150 total, and made a nice noticeable increase in power and mpg. nothing huge but there for sure and totally worth the price. the truck holds a better regulated temp, thats for sure.

Now it's back up and running again with no issues. But I'm not sure if I'm going to bother sending the old controller back for warranty work. I'd have to pay to ship it and since it's gone out twice I don't think it's worth it.
Glad to see it is running smoothly again Clint. I might tell the company that this is the second controller you have received from them that has failed - and that you would appreciate not having to pay for shipping yet again.
Might also mention that you are a member of a public forum who had previously recommended the company to other members, but would be hesitant to do so in the future given the QC issues and the annoying costs for return shipping.
I mean, that's what I would do

Well I contacted FF Dynamics to see if they'd send a call tag for the bad controller and they just sent me a link to their Terms and Conditions that say the buyer has to pay return shipping for defects. So, in to the trash they go! I have two bad ones from them now so I'm not going to pay more money to get another one from them. I don't really think I'd recommend them based on my experience. The fans seem okay, but the controllers are a different story. I was hesitant to try to do it all on my own without any instructions so I bought their kit for $240 last fall. Since then I've spent $35 on relays that went out, and $37 for a new controller. So take this for what it's worth if you're considering purchasing from them.
Where did you get the fans? Do they move air pretty well? I got dual fans off a newer Ford Windstar at a junkyard and a controller from O'Reilly's. The fans mounted in and fit pretry well. I've had no issues so far. It's been 6 months. I was just curious about those fans and maybe what brand of controller. Mine is a Hayden.

They seem to work pretty good, but I would not recommend these guys' controller. I bought the Hayden at O'reilly's and it's working well.
