Default Sub box

has anybody been able to hide their subwoofer under the back seat of their truck? i currently have mine sitting on the seat but would like to keep the clean look of the sub being hidden. My truck is an extended cab with the full bench in the rear. Ive looked around for fitted boxes and couldnt find anything.

I'm in the process of making a downfiring sub box with storage compartments. It will use a 12. I never used the back seat and always had it folded down. I think this will be more useful. The top will be flat and carpeted, there will be lids on each side that hinge up. I also did a lot of sound dedening and insulating.

I bought a JL Audio 10" compact sub.

It only requires a 0.5 cu ft box. I built a custom box to fit under my pass side rear seat.

I built a center console instead. (Well I don't have a back seat so...) :p

Also it was done halfass as I really didn't think it would work or sound good. But it does.

I'm doing the same thing with the sub I just added for now it between the seats on the floor. The 1991 I have has no room anywhere to add speakers lol. I did a set of 6x9 speakers in boxes that are just wedged in the corner for now, an my sub box is sitting on the floor behind the armrest.

I like the idea of building a storage box like that. I might remove the lower part of the seat an build something like you have pictured. But how hard would it be to put a small pad on top an still use it as a seat if you had to?

It wouldn't be hard to add a pad. Probably some foam covered in vinyl or fabric would work. I'm going to use carpet on mine. I'm considering some buckets then make a center console that goes from the speaker box to under the dash.
