Default Trans Problem

I have a 1995 f150 4x4 with 302,
The problem hose blew a few days ago.
It is the small one that goes from valley near air intake and into the block
Had anti-freeze in it. Small pin hole. Ever sense that day, The transmission won't shift right. It was spraying anti-freeze up into everything.
About a week before hose blew I had the transmission flushed, (Filter wasn't changed)

It will shift at 2000 rpm's no matter how hard you hit the gas
It shifts smooth and all. It goes through each gear.
I will be in over drive around 20 mph.
It won't down shift unless you slow down.

I don't know if there is a similar post. I am sorry if there is.

1995 Ford F150 4x4 extend cab (not four door)
4R70W (I believe)

255,000 miles +

Rebuilt once
Original everything

I am looking for better transmission. I want a six speed, if anyone knows of a good one that isn't $10,000 please let me know.

did you flush the trans or the cooler? usually you dont flush your trans if it has over 100,000 miles. you can free up dirt when you do and it can cause your trans to burn out.

I let grease monkey just do a flush. I shouldn't have, I don't really trust them.
I got some codes today. Well I tried. I did the paper clip thing and counted the flashes of check engine light.

While engine was off:
1-2-1 5-6-5
1-2-1 5-6-5

While engine was running:
9-9-8 1-2-2
9-9-8 1-2-2

I'm not sure if I am reading them right.

A friend of mine said it seems like Torque Converter
I love this truck, I will keep it forever. Even if I have to rebuild a 100 times.

I hope I haven't burnt the transmission up.

Im not sure but I believe your trans has a vacume modulater that controls shift points in relation to throttle position [vacume] you could have damaged or knocked the hose off when you were working on it or the modulater could be bad. Either way its a simple and inexpensive fix

Sorry guys, I fixed it, was throttle position sensor and vapor canister, also I cleaned throttle body

I do want a better transmission, I was hoping for 6x but I may looking for a 5 speed,

I was reading codes by watch check engine flashes, paper clip in self test thing, then ground paper clip to body, I counted with motor running and not running, if idle is to high kill it wait ten seconds and start again, needs to be warm, also that year truck wont give up transmission code without reader

The flush didn't hurt anything, I went digging round and inspected torque converter and filter change
When that didn't fix, I guess tps.

Going to drop 351c later this year

Yes you will get transmission codes with a paperclip. And you don't ground the paperclip to the body.

Oh, Well it worked the way I did it. I tried with out grounding and it never worked.

How would you get transmission codes with paper clip?
