Start help needed

Start help needed
My son (15) and I are attempting to fix up an 88 f150xlt (302) for him. Problem is only wants to start with starting fluid. Once we get it running it goes great. But if you leave it for any time at all won't restart without starting fluid.
We have replaced both in tank pumps, high pressure inline pump, fuel filter, fuel pump relay, fuel pressure regulator . Any help would be appreciated

I'm thinking fuel pressure is not the issue. As I said when I turn the key on I get the 36 psi. But for some reason it won't start without the starting fluid. Once it's running goes great. Someone suggested distributor pickup or map sensor. Looking for thoughts on that
