Default 4x2 to 4x4 conversion.

So a quick question. I have looked over the forums but this question I couldn't find a answer to. I have a 93 F-150 XL 5 Speed Mazda tranny. I want to convert to 4x4 I know I need a new tranny, the front axle assembly, transfer case and and both drive shafts of the donor truck. But my question is I have a 10.25 rear with 3.55 gears and from the numbers on it its not a limited slip. So do I need a limited slip rear for 4x4.

Where did the 10.25 rear come from?? I've owned both a 93 and 96 2wd F150s, both had the 8.8 rear, '93 had the 3.08 gears, the 96 had 3.55s. Are you sure you have the 10.25??

Anyway, no, you don't have to have a limited slip rear for 4x4.
