Basically the same. The pan should be.
The W in 4R70W is for wide gear spacing. AODE has more evenly spaced gears, more suitable to a little Mustang or such.
The part of interest to us is that first gear is lower for getting off the line and a big jump to second.
kind of like the GM turbo 350 compared to the turbo 400 for anybody who was around way back when.

4R70W is usually easily identified by a big W on the tailshaft housing (for wide gear spacing).

Hahaha, this is all getting a bit too much info for me! I just learned basic internal combustion engines and now I need to learn shifting! And all that stuff.

Oh man, I need to get underneath again huh? So the tailshaft will be near the joint where the driveshaft attaches to? Will there be other identifying marks under there?

BTW, I put some of that Dr. Tranny in there and I don't know what's in that stuff but all the buzzing and funky shifting is all gone.

Well, now this sucks, cause nothing is really wrong with truck now. Timing is a little below 10BDTC and I'll play around getting it close to 10 without pinging now that i have a brand new harmonic balancer in it.

Other than that, I don't have nothing to do!!

Except maybe under dash/footwell LED lights....hmmmmm
