e4od to m5r2
I did the full swap from e4od to m5r2 in a 93 f150 4.9L longbed. Put the manual starter on and wired it as it is on my factory 5spd. Pulled the e4od harness off at the two connectors below the power distribution box and plugged in the m5r2 harness with the jumper for red/light blue wire to bypass the neutral safety switch. Installed a 5spd computer and instrument cluster with tach from a 93 junkyard truck. Swapped the auto tilt column for a manual tilt column and plugged connectors back in. the clutch safety switch was already in the harness just capped off and fastened under the dash, plugged that in and installed on the master cylinder pushrod. Went to start the truck and nothing. Has anyone done this swap and had similar issue? When you turn the key to run you can hear fuel pump prime but then turn key to start, nothing. Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.
your problem is the computer, when my computer went out i went to the junkyard and pulled one, my truck barely started, wouldnt shift, had little power, the key is, on the drivers side, open the door and look at the a-piller where the door hinges are, youll see 2 letters and a number, like ZA3, XM5, something like that, it has to do with your computer you truck needs, now i dont know if this is your exact problem, but its a thought, i ended up having to go to the parts store and get a reman one after trying 3 or 4 ECU's. I havent messed with with tranny harnesses, but that should affect why its not starting. good luck, let me know what you find!
Its doing it with the factory auto computer and harness. I tried with how it was from ford and with manual computer and harness. All components are hot with key in run position but turn key to crank and it doesn't engage the starter. Jump the starter relay on the fender and cranks right up.
yea it has to be the clutch switch, neutral safety switch...whatever its called, even if the tranny harness got harmed, i dont see how it would keep it from starting, unless the harness intertwines with the wiring of the ignition switch, or the ECU isnt recognizing its in neutral somehow, if the ECU even controlls that part. All i can think of is to just start tracing wires, make sure nothing has been pinched or cut, back-check everything that you did. Other than that im at a loss...

I double checked everything and its all good. Bypassed the clutch switch and nothing. Put a new key switch in and crank but no start. So I bypassed starter relay with a push but switch and it worked. Still have to have key turned forward, clutch pedal pushed and push button that I wired to jump the starter relay and it cranks right up. Turn key off it dies. Tried turning key off and back on real quick but it won't come back on.
