What do you mean by mark the holes for the converter? I thought they were just 90° from each other?

Some flywheel/ flexplates have multiple holes, you might need to spin the engine around with a socket wrench on the crank bolt to get them to line up with the correct holes.

I guess when I was underneath, lining everything up, an electrical connector fell into the bell housing and that’s why nothing was lining up. Now I’ve got the intake manifold, most of the electrical connectors on, the torque converter nuts tightened down, most of the electricals connected, have to go to dinner with the family for my moms birthday but when I get home I’ll be putting the driveshaft and starter in and filling with fluids. Wish me luck lol

Got the engine in and bolted up, starter is on, plugs and wires are run, the thing won't start. Triple checked the firing order, and it'll almost idle on starting fluid. All my vac lines are dry rotted, will this engine start without vacuum? If not, where can I find a diagram? I have compression, I have spark so I'm thinking fuel. I'll check if I can hear the pump prime but neither tank is letting the truck start

Got the truck idling for a short time, then it died. No electrical power at all. Tested the fusible by the starter for continuity and they all tested good. Gauges are freaking out too and truck wont crank .12.6 volts on battery, clean ground cables, nothing when the key is turned. Any thoughts? Where should I look next?

Problem was a bad battery cable. I had continuity but I don't think it was carrying enough current to do the job. Hooked jumper cables to my battery and one to the starter solenoid and the other to the frame and everything lit up bright. There's no exhaust on it so I can't try to start it now but we'll find out if it runs tomorrow for sure. I'm glad the landlords gave me extra time on it because initially they only gave like two days 😂
