Default More help on the lift problem: why does it do this now

I put a 6 inch lift on and the bottom of the wheelbase went from 33inches off the ground, and after doing the proper axel drop kit and before having it aligned yet, it now sits 39inches...perfect right? wrong. i literally moved it from one side of the driveway to the end, and parallel parked to the other side of the driveway and in this short distance, the suspension somehow is BINDING. The truck now sits 37inches off the ground and the wheels or caster if you will, look like this /--=-\. Anyone ever had this many problems lifting a 96 ttb ifs 4.9 4x4??

why does that happen when it moves around? i can reset it to where it should be, then it moves and drops again. all the bolts are tight and the ttb drop plates are mounted firm and correctly

It's because you backed up. The suspension settles weird when you back up. It won't be like that if you stop after moving forward.

It will always do it when you back up. That's how these trucks are.

it's gonna settle a bit too..most of your problems will go away after it is aligned! after about 500 miles your gonna need to tighten every thing again

OP- I assume your running 35's for tires? Bigger tires you run the worse it looks.

It does it with stock tires too, but because they are smaller you do not notice it as much. I just started noticing my truck doing it but I have to look for it.

Just the nature of the beast.

fords from the start of time(lol) until 1996, dodges from at least the 80-90's as long as they have a big hub hole(most aftermarket wheels will) and jeeps from the 70's had big hole patterns. 5x5.5" is the bolt pattern, just makesure the wheels have big hub holes.
