Engine Parts Interchange Question

Nice driving little rig but the fuel injection's gotta go. Does anyone know for sure whether carburetd cylinder head and distributor with vacuum advance will fit EFI block without modification? Alternatively, can someone suggest a source for this info?
I figure if I can fit a distributor, at the least I can carburet the existing head and plug the air injector ports but would rather change out head if practical.
Thanks, y'all!

To preserve my sanity, if nothing else.... Due to the design of that two-piece manifold and the placement of all of those hoses, relays, and whatnot on the valve cover (long ago moved, BTW) it always has been a serviceability problem (not to mention the chronic vacuum leaks) and now at nearly 200K it has become a continuing maintenance pain in the butt.
I figure with a simple carb, I can finally get it to idle down where a Ford 6 is supposed to idle, control the ignition timing advance where I want it, and stop dealing with intermittent connections to the fuel injectors and sensors.
A fair portion of that plastic stuff under the hood has passed its useful life -- and, I suspect, its design life -- is brittle and breaks every time I look at it, much less actually touch it.
The prospect of no air temp sensor, no water temp sensor, no MAP, no AIR (the EGR has been long gone for a while), etc. etc. is appealing.
I'm hoping that I can dump the EFI on the cheap and then when the bottom end (ever) dies I can shop around for mods to increase efficiency.

Nah; sold that on eBay years ago. Clearly, I'm in the wrong place. I mistakenly thought myself to be among truck people. Instead, it seems to be juvenile hot rodders and a fair number of butt-sucking fools. Gonna see whether I can unsubscribe from this circle jerk.
Quite a read. Not my cup of tea. That's a catalog of toys for what we used to call "hot-rodders": Losers who dumped as much gas a possible down the throat to keep the tires smoking between traffic lights in the mistaken belief that it would get them laid. I'm talking about just bringing this obsolete pile of crap into at least the 1960's with cross flow head -- hemi, if possible, solid lifters, carburetor with equal-length induction, an actual scavenging exhaust header and hot fuel.

Hope you get your truck running the way you want though.
Just keep in mind that some of the guys in here may not be master mechanics with a degree from ATI on their garage wall, but you can be damn certain that they know what does and doesn't work on these trucks.
Think about that if you ever decide to grow up a bit.
