Ill start a buld out on the 250

Thank you all.
** an f250 diesel will have a similar low payload for what it is. if going gas (6.2 or 7.3 gas) F250 is fine.. if going diesel (7.3 PSD) F350 is to me, the only way to go..

The appeal to F250 for me is that I'm perfectly happy with a more spartan truck. To get an F150 set up to tow anywhere near that requires a lot of options, and expense I don't really want. I can get a F250 equipped the way I want it cheaper than a F150. My next truck may well be F250 with the 6.2.

I built a:
F150 Screw 157 4x4 3.5EB 101A Chrome Max Tow & Tow Mirrors
F250 Crew 160 4x4 6.2 STX, PEG & ITBC.

F250 was about $2,000 cheaper if I remember right and was better equipped. Of course that's MSRP and in the real world the F250 may not be cheaper.

I can't get the $11,000 I got off my 18 on the Lariat so I usually settle for a 301A.

You can find spartan F350s with a 6.2l and they come with a 10 spd for a F350.

That might be an interesting combo if you are not looking at 19's but I think the OP wants the 7.3L if he goes gas.

I've never pulled a trailer over 9,000 lb and 65 sq ft of frontal area with a 6.2 so can't say how it performs on larger trailers.

I can't find a review of a 6.2l w/10spd anywhere.

If you are only towing 1-2 times per year could you just hire a friend or a tow truck to move it. Then you can get the nice F-150 you want....I dunno I am just throwing **** against the wall to see if it sticks. How far are you towing? What location? I feel like there is a big difference between towing in Alaska with steep grades, snow and ice covered roads -- and towing in Florida.

Did you buy an F-250 yet? If no please explain

Don't recommend. I've got a 33' TT that's well under the max tow rating (7700 gross weight), but with the length it throws my little tug around in the wind like crazy. makes me wish I went for a bigger truck (when I suggested that my wife about shot me in the face!).
