My truck is a 5.5' bed, 36 gallon tank, towing package with integrated controller, 302A package, etc. And I still have a 1,574 lb. payload. Where is he losing 300 lbs?

I guess the world will never know.

Your GVWR is 7350, the OP's is 7200. So all other things being equal, you will have 150# more payload. If the post about the EB being 10# heaver than the 5.0 is correct, than that's a total of 160# advantage to your truck. The remaining 127# is going to be the difference in options.

Your payload starts at 1700#

OP's starts at 1520#

You'd have to ask Ford engineering to understand why...

I have the same options, 36 gallon tank, tbc, 302a, and upgraded trans cooler.

not sure if tires and wheels come into play, but I noticed your on 17s. Mine came with chrome 20s which I have changed out to raptor take offs. But doubt that would attribute that to the 300 lb difference.

Actually...that might explain the most rest...from (https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas...Payload_SB.pdf)
Wheels, 17" Machined Aluminum -24#
Wheels, 20" Chrome-clad Aluminum +60#

So in comparison, your 20" wheels cost you 84# compared to WXman's 17's.

20" tires another 25#

So
GVWR difference, 180#
20" vs 17" 109#
--------------------------
Total 289#
