Default Trailer width?

With standard mirrors, can you see properly towing a normal 8.5' wide trailer? My assumption is probably not, but just wanted to make sure.
Anybody tow a 7.5' wide trailer with standard mirrors?

I need to buy a trailer this year for big boy toys. And I greatly dislike the Ford towing mirrors on a 150, and I don't want clip on mirrors either. So I have to match the trailer to the truck.

Thanks.

The stock mirrors are pretty useless on a full width travel trailer. A 7.5" wide trailer should be ok though.

^^^ WHAT HE SAID ABOVE^^^
But if you have an open trailer & you can see real good (especially a shorter trl.) you could possibly get away with stock mirrors.
Of course it's your choice but those big rabbit ear tow mirrors are excellent to see around any trailer especially RV's where it becomes a safety feature !!.
And I really like the spot lane mirrors on the tow mirrors !!

I plan to use these with my 8' wide travel trailer. I'm like you, didn't want the towing mirrors, these will just have to do.

A enclosed trailer is even debatable at 7 foot wide . To be safe and to be able to see properly 6 foot wide standard mirrors and 7 or wide should be tow mirrors on a enclosed trailer.

Once you towed a 8' trailer with tow mirrors you will not go back to the "rabbit ear" mirrors.
You looking into the right side 3"x 4" mirror from your driver seat 20' plus behind you ...stuff gets real small there .
I tried as I did not want the tow mirrors Now that I have them that's the only way to tow a TT or a enclosed trailer wider than 6'.
Aftermarket Tow mirrors are $200 to $300 now takes 30 min to swap out both.

What he said. The standard mirrors are not sufficient for a standard width Travel Trailer.

It'd be only fair to see someone with stock mirror with stock trailer provide their input here When I was searching for this truck, tow mirror was a requirement over the color of the truck. I do admit I love my tow mirrors with or w/o towing anything.

The standard mirrors are barely over 8' at the outside edges, meaning the plastic shroud. The actual reflective surface is less than 8', so no way will they work well for an 8' wide trailer. I'd want at least 3" of mirror wider than the trailer, and that would be for just getting by, doable for non-complicated towing.

AS said above....But I will add.........
1st .......You will only see about a 30-40% of an angle view back along the trailer....the longer the trailer the wider the angle...& you can't see whats there!!
This means you will not see the back of your trailer or more importantly any traffic etc. coming up behind you !! Or the tree you are backing into !!
The trailer will always appear not to be trailing straight behind you !!
2nd........ Above is complete safety yours & the other guys !! Think about it why would you invest thousands in a trailer & try to drive it with $ 0.02 equipped mirrors !!
