Default Tow mirrors

I currently have the stock mirrors on my truck. Does anyone tow a 7x14 enclosed trailer with the stock mirrors? If so, how do,you like them and do you see enough? Really don't want the elephant mirrors, hoping the stock mirrors will do. Any input would be good.
Thanks

My old camping trailer was 7-1/2' wide and I felt OK with the stock mirrors. The new trailer is 8' wide & needs extended mirrors.

I have a 7x14 cargo trailer . With my 98 I had mirrors that slipped over my stock mirrors in order to see. On my 13 I had the dealer put the towing mirrors on when I bought it. Without having to slide them out they seem about perfect. Didn't want the max tow package cause I didn't want the 373 rear end. You'll be happier with the tow mirrors .

We carry the mirror extensions that slip over the stock mirrors so that you can see around your trailer. If you want to post the year of your F150, I can see if I have them for your model year.

Jeff,
I tow my 7x16 enclosed with stock xlt mirrors (2009 Screw). Basically you look right down the side of the trailer like you do the truck (trailer and truck about the same width). On an 8ft wide trailer, I think you would need mirror extensions, but at 7, I never felt the need for them.

Default Mirror / mirror

I have stock mirrors but tow RV and need larger mirrors, do you recommend add on's or replace with telescopic?

Just got F150 XLT, XTR, Canadian.

Depends on how much you tow.

I tried add-ons for a couple of years but eventually switched to factory tow mirrors. More stable, better view, always ready, aren't constantly working loose. BUT dumbo ears get old driving around town.

I'd say get some add-ons and try them for a short trip. Minimal investment.

Thumbs up

Thanks superdave150. I was thinking of the factory mirrors ( dumbo ) and will likely go that way as can get wholesale and not fan of the slideons.

They do stick out. But I really depend on their BIG convex mirror across the bottom when not towing. Maybe 'cause I have a Leer Cap that obstructs the view at the rear corners.

Love 'em.

That is what I like too the better too see. My wife will be driving the truck sometimes and I want her to see really well, I got her to back into parking now and the larger mirrors will help with that. You all have help make up my mind. Thanks..
