Update: So, when I started this thread, I guess my sample size was too small. I only towed the boat for about 30 miles, which was mostly flat. This weekend, I pulled it about 330 miles with some hilly Missouri Ozark terrain. The tow haul mode is working as designed. I will say the 10 speed downshifting in tow haul mode is still not as pronounced as my old 6 speed, especially on the flats.

I too am using my 2018 3.5EB 10 spd to tow my boat. It's a 20' boat which is relatively small and light, but I'm usually hauling a bunch of camping gear and people which starts to add up. The tow/haul is effective, it's a feature that I have not had on my truck before (06 F-150). My question more pertains to the interaction with the surge brake system of my boat trailer. Because the truck is downshifting and providing sufficient holding power it is my assumption that the surge brake system of the trailer is also being applied and for periods longer than with out the tow/haul. Is this going to have higher wear on my trailer braking system and cause more heat and potential for damage in the bearings of the trailer? Tips, tricks and experience appreciated.

I too have surge brakes. That’s a good question and not one I considered.

Default Tow Haul disengages while towing

I hope I’m posting in the right area. New to this forum. I have 2019 F150 3.5 EB, max tow. Sometimes with 7500 lb Airstream hitched, truck will not allow toe/haul to engage. Other times, tow/haul disengages while driving and will not allow selection while moving or stopped. Ideas? Thanks so much.

How does it engage? Is the light on "Tow/haul" dashboard? I have never heard of this one before and its all ecu controlling shift points, trans line pressure and downshifts.
My 2018 is perfect and I press the select button twice and it never turns off unless I shut the truck off.

My Toyota tundra would turn it off if the Cruise control had to go to full throttle - not fun!

Welcome to the forum and maybe someone can help or take it to the dealer and record the symptoms to make it easy to prove the problem vs cannot duplicate problem.
