Timbren?
2007 F150 4x4 S/Crew
Will be taking my truck down to Arizona for the winter and I plan on hauling my Harley Davidson Tri Glide in the box, there and back. The bike weighs 1200lbs. Total max payload of my truck is 1400lbs, so I'll definitely be overweight with other cargo and me and my wife as occupants. I test loaded the bike today just to see how it would look and fit and the truck is 2" off the bump stops. I'm looking at buying Timbren SES to make it ride more level. Any thoughts or recommendations? Would I need the Severe Duty Timbren's or the standard version?

The Timbrens won't improve your payload capacity (you will still be overloaded). They will help the springs when you hit big bumps or corner at speed as they act like an extra leaf. But you will also feel the little bumps (when they engage it is pretty abrupt).
They could reduce sag but a 2" space is more than I had when my TT (800lb of hitch weight) was hooked up without Timbrens. The Timbrens are now compressed about 1/4" and my sag is reduced by 1/2" (w/o the WDH).
If your truck is level with the bike then they aren't going to do much (did you measure the fender heights before/after?). If it isn't, maybe air bags?
You might also need to worry about body roll (the bike will raise your center of mass) so maybe Helwigs?

It sure would be safer to buy yourself a small trailer that is just big enough for your ride. Easier to load and unload, easier to tie down and cover.

The standard timbrens. Do not use the severe ones. Timbrens will help and when loaded it will feel more stable. I have them and like them. Previously used the Superspring also which would work too.

Using Sumosprings myself, helps a lot. My only gripe is the rebound when I come to a firm stop, buts only because I got 1500 instead of 1000 pound ones.
