I love my 18 Lariat HDPP. I'm not sure I'd sell it even if someone came and offered me top dollar for it. There's nothing out there that can replace it, literally, except another 18 Lariat HDPP. I am so glad I special ordered mine the way I wanted it. Almost every Lariat option you can get, with HDPP and still don't regret it.

Just get in and drive. The one and only thing not to do is hammer time. All the new vehicles I have had the past 10 years I just set the cruise and drove. Never had any drive train issues (except the 2016 and it was due to manufacturing issues). I have 38K on my 2018 3.5 and it is silky smooth and sips gas. Love it.

Every HDPP I’ve seen had a green special order sticker.

Not sure, but I don't think so, but I wouldn't tow before 1,000 miles. It took me over two months to break mines in, and I had to come up with places to go just to get to 1,000 miles.

Brake in. I drove mine 800 miles at max gvwr pulling a 7k trailer as soon as the truck was delivered.

Believe it or not, Truecar new vehicle search allows me to find HDPP and other things like RCSB with specific engines very easily. I was also able to do national searches. Way more useful than Ford's limited search.

HDPP requires Max Tow. Inspected a max tow F150 4x4 and payload sticker in door said 2400#. We have F150 SC 6.5 box 4x4 3.5 EB Max Tow and sticker in door says 1920#. Do you really need extra 480# load capacity? Owner of the HDPP stated it is a bit of a rough ride in truck by itself.

Depends on use case. There are some 5th wheels that can be towed with the HDPP. HDPP is designed to be a work truck, that is carrying heavy loads all the time. Think of factories that need to transport cages of parts between shops. Cheaper to have a half ton capable of carrying the cage than a box truck that requires a commercial licensed, insured driver.

Another use for the F150 HDPP is for the slide in truck campers.
I read through the entire thread again and found only one reference to limited luxury with the HDPP. For clarity, from 2019 on, HDPP was only allowed up through the mid grade XLT model.

I am interested. I towed fifth wheel to west coast. Payload at designed truck limit. Problem was not sag but pitching up and down on uneven surface. I looked at Timbrens, Air lift etc and then added Bilsteins shocks. What is your experience, what are you carrying towing and what is experience with sumos?
