The generator is designed to run on 2 legs (@240volt) that's why they make 120V Generators for RV's
You running it on 1 leg totally unbalance (you try to run on one leg (this a funny))
If you ask any Generator Tech they will tell you its bad for the Generator and asking for problems

PS: My bold statement was indented not to plug in the camper cord strait into the 240V outlet (will edit)

Sorry, that is not correct (Retired master Electrician). Proof is the fact 5000 watt and above generators are furnished with both 120 and 240 outlets.

Thank you... I'm NOT even an amateur on any of this but the literal to figurative comparison of "legs" in that analogy was giving me a migraine.
