If you are bored, there is a similar thread here
https://www.f150forum.com/f129/2-7l-...l-hdpp-517840/

OP is asking about an HDPP, however that does not exist and there is just a touch of talk beginning that shares your question.

Keep you busy until your thread gets answers.

The 2.7L payload package comes with 3.73 gearing and a heavy duty frame which is what increases the payload and towing capacity. Keep in mind, the 10,100 lbs max towing capacity is for a perfectly equipped truck (single cab, 4x2, minimal options etc).

Your payload is going to be your limiting factor, not the tow rating because, again, that 7700 rating is for a perfectly equipped non payload package 2.7L truck (single cab, 4x2, limited options)

Find the yellow sticker on your door and check your payload, then go from there!

Wow, and you don't have the payload package? That's great. Not sure I've seen a 2.7L above 1600lbs payload without a payload package.

Should be well within specs to pull your trailer then.

May have missed it, but I don't think OP ever said he didn't have the 2.7 HDPP
