So I spent Saturday at my buddy's place using his lift. Did a front end refresh. I don't have any pictures because it is really boring stuff. I did new upper control arms, lower ball joints, swaybar endlinks, and swaybar bushings. Also did new brake pads and caliper pins all the way around. Now I need to order new tires and get those thrown on. I am planning to go Toyo AT3 this time around. 35x11.50 C-rated.
I did find one of my aribags has a tear in it. So I will need to replace that.

How’s the rearview dash cam mirror setup working? What model is it again?
Time for new mod ideas since I’m keeping the truck. I plan to finally finish up the stereo upgrade and install the sway bar once the truck is back from the body shop. I’ve been really slacking…but keep buying chit. 🤣🤣
What UCAs did you go with?

I just went back with stock. For a number of reasons. Stock did great for 185K miles. They are only $100 each. I didn't want to deal with uniball joints and greasing them and such. I don't have the fundage for aftermarket and I am not sure they would work with my wheel backspacing anyways.

I spent Saturday getting a lot of housework done and made huge progress on that. Yesterday was dedicated to the truck.
First up was loadbars for the road trip. I am not a fan of the form, but the function can't be denied.

I should be able to squeeze a second loaner cargo box up top to store more gear for the trip.

After that was quickly done, I started work on my bed build out that I have been talking about for years. I think I made good progress. There are pictures above of the base plates. I used my dremel to route out the bottom of the bolt holes so the washers would sit flat in the channel. Still not professional, but it works better, I think. I didn't get a lot of pictures because I suck at that during the building process. When I get hyper focused on something, I forget everything else. I don't even eat a lot of the time.
So I started with a bunch of material from TNUTZ and 8020. I can provide a full build list if anyone is really interested. My vision was to build an overlanding aluminum extrusion UNDER my cap to provide additional storage. The passenger side will have three rotopax cans. Two for water and one storage container for now. This might get changed to three water containers if I can find a different solution for my toolkit. The driverside will have two BuiltRight molle panels. The front will have the airbag compressor moved forward and up. The rear will have the bicycle pump and a couple of other items.
I built all of this with the tools I already have. I would have loved to have a chop saw with a metal cutting blade or access to a band saw. Unfortunately, I only have an angle grinder and I don't have the steadiest hands. Fortunately most of cuts are hidden behind connectors and such. Anyways, onto the pictures.

In today's update of preparing the truck to drive over 5,000 miles this summer. I got new tires. I went Toyo Open Country ATIII this time. 35x11.50 C-rated. Little skinnier, but a bit taller. There is definitely less width and less bulge than the 315/70.

The truck is all ready to head to mountain bike practice this evening.

Only things I have left to do are getting the front diff seal replaced and the transmission flushed. Then I'll do an oil change and new plugs before heading west.
I also saw this killer "little" Super Duty at the tire store. The only thing little about it was that it was a regular cab.

Those Toyo's are some good tires,I had 305/70/17 on my 150 for I think maybe 3 years, comes out to around 15K miles. I went with Falkens AT4W Christmas Eve, 315/70/17 since I changed up the wheels again, and wanted to try those after having AT3W on the Ranger and Jeep.
I'm a little undecided in selling the Toyo's with aftermarket wheels, I liked them that much.

Hmm, interesting you rate those Toyos highly. They do not test well Vs. other tyres
Oh, and i forgot to ask, did you end up making permanent holes in your cab to mount the rack?
(For future reference and when/where to be aware with these tyres: https://www.tire-reviews.com/Tire-Te...e-for-2025.htm)
