Eco-Bust: Failed Boost
I don't see why the original warranty wouldn't stand? I bought my truck at Blue Bonnet. They have great service, even winning awards for it. They are the top volume dealer in the area too.
Something doesn't add up. There must be more to the story.

This is what he quoted me back in early 2012:
5 yr / 125K - $1464.00
6 yr / 125K - $1599.00
7 yr / 125K - $1899.00
All with the $100 deductible...it adds $175.00 if you want to upgrade to a $50 deductible.
Yea the 350 was super reliable. When they replaced it we got piston slap when cold. Between that and having a bad case of ugly truck syndrome I got turned off gm.
Sorry for not responding, and thank you for the feedback.
1. I spent the day looking for a new dealership to work with. Blue Bonnet Ford wanted me to leave the truck with them, and they would look at it on Wednesday. Well, that’s great. I’ll tell my employer that same line as well. Here’s another great idea. Set me up an appointment for Wednesday morning, and I’ll bring it back for you to work on it then. (In their defense, I myself should have called ahead to make an appointment to ensure that all parties minimized their time wasted.) I call this one even!
2. Yes, my historical posts have focused on problems. Naturally, they have a negative tone. In my defense, when my power steering failed I came back online to state that Ford provided a reasonably fair resolution and that overall I loved this truck.
a. It’s just very disheartening to have another major issue with an 18 month old truck occur within 30 days, and the local dealer makes me feel like I’m bothering him. Believe me, I wish I never had to go to the dealer for maintenance.
b. Again, I love this truck. It just doesn't love me back!
3. I’m now at Jordan Ford, and the first impression was very positive. They are a highly decorated dealership too. The first thing this dealer told me was that this issue should be covered under the drive train warranty. So to those posters, yes this might be covered (keeping my fingers crossed). Hey, why didn't Blue Bonnet say the same thing? It’s strange that they don’t understand the nuances of their own product’s warranty?
I’ll provide more updates as this things works itself out…

As far as the 350 being "bullet proof", I've only had experience with (2) of them and both were knocking at 80K miles...granted the first lasted till 180000 miles with the knock and the one I'm driving at work is still going at 140000...but they knocked the whole time...my sister in law has a '06 with the 5.3 and it is knocking at 80k also.....
everyone has different experiences I suppose....mine weren't bullet proof though
I realize the 5.3 isn't a 350....just saying

FYI - the Ford EcoBoost.net Forum banned me from their site today. They also stated that it would never be lifted. Reason, spam. I posted the exact same message as my original post as a reply on several similar posts on that site this morning.
That's not cool evidently. They don't like upset ecoboost customers evidently.
I share this information just in case I'm banned from this site tomorrow. At least now, you'll know what happened to me. Too funny.
I may have a negative overtone due to my negative experience, but that's not my fault entirely, is it? I think these types of sites are full of web crawlers looking to manage the messaging for a given product. They shouldn't block other consumers from real world experiences of existing customers. Should they?
Oh well, I call it as it is. Ford stepped up last time, and I expect they'll do the same this time. If so, I will come on this site and sing their praise.
