Warn semi hidden winch mount
Does anyone know how warns hidden winch mount is actually mounted on the truck? And if it is a good product? Also does anyone have a pic of it on their truck?
Thanks,
Paul

I installed one in my 2002, 2 weeks ago, with my Warn 9000i winch on it.
It's mounted between the frame rails using the existing bolts used for the front tow hooks.
It wasn't hard to mount but the instructions are a little vague. It took about 1 1/2 hours to complete the job. It would be beneficial to have a helper.
I'll take pictures and try to post them later today.

Oh, I'm very happy with the set up.

I had to make a custom one for my FSJ. It worked really well. It's nice to not carry the winch around all the time. But you need to remember it is there when you have it on the truck. You can't see it, so you forget it. When you pull in to a parking spot, you can easily hit the opposing vehicle. Make sure you use heavy wire and the connectors. I used 1 guage wire, silver soldered the ends on and covered them with acid resistant heat shrink. the War cables are JUNK!!!!!! they corroded and failed befoer I could use them. If you do it right, you can run cable anywhere. I have taken a battery out of the vehicle, and taken the winch to use for other than vehicle extrraction.
Here's some pictures with the mount and winch installed. Also, I have a clip on license plate attached to the roller fairlead.
that looks nice where did you get it from? And what else did you need to buy with it i was looking at them and it said i need to buy like a tow hook adapter or something not sure but when ever i buy stuff im always scared im not going to get all the parts thats supse to go with it so could u tell me what all you got with it?

If you already have factory tow hooks then you are good to go with the Warn kit. Everything you will need is povided except the Winch.
I put this on my 98 F150 Lariat last week. I went to Amazon.com and bought the Warn Semi-Hidden kit for $200 and went with a Smittybuilt 8000lbs winch for $290. First off I would like to point out that all the pics shown of the Semi-Hidden kit are always one step left of center, this way it looks to be centered on your truck. If you look at his head on you'll notice that its about 3 inches offset to the right and theres no way to correct it. Trust me my OCD tried to
They have you use your OEM bolts that hold onto your tow hooks, I went and bought some slightly longer bolts so that they penetrated the top of the nuts inside the frame rails. The instructions are pretty clear once you stare at it long enough to make sense BUT!!!!!!! ALL the measurements are centered on your bumper.... this I didn't catch till after I cut the lower valance and tried to mount the kit, only to find that there is about a 1.5 to 2 inch gap on the left side and 1.5 inches that need to be cut away to make it fit.
