Default Trying to choose between SCT X4 or BDX

I've started looking at the 2 mention and really couldn't a difference between them. They're both the same price and offer pretty much the same thing.

Is there anything that I'm missing? Or is the main difference in the unit itself and capabilities?

They are the same, the bdx is newer. Capabilities are the same. Your choice. Not all tuners support the x4 on 2018+ f150s. But SCT has said they will support it shortly.

I figured so. I have a 2015 so the X4 should fine. I'll look into the BDX some more to see if I'd like that one.

Thanks for the response!

I have the x4 as well from my 2016. From what I've read, even the menus are identical to one another. I'd stick with the x4. Saves you 400 bucks.

On SCT website there both $399, unless I missing something.

On, I misunderstood you last comment. I thought you had the x4 FOR your 2015 already. My bad. Go with the bdx if you want something newer. They are both good programmers.

Does the BDX now allow for adjusting the tire size?

From what I’ve experienced thus far, I’d look into other options. The SCT X4 seems to become a useless brick fairly often and if that happens at the wrong time, could make your truck inoperable. Not sure if the BDX has this same propensity for failure or not.

Yes, bdx allows for all adjustments.

mine bricked my truck on a saturday morning. i spent hours trying to get it to work and it never did. of course when it bricked my truck it was a saturday morning and their emergency contact was of no use. could not drive it all weekend, had to wait for monday and take an hour off of work to get my truck running again, sans tune.

SCT sent me a new X4 and everything is working perfectly. Seems like mine just went bad. It worked flawlessly the two years prior.
