The X4 was recommended because of the ability to adjust the speedometer for my tire size. I don’t remember what the other option was but MPT said it would not allow for that.

Now that you mention it, it may true of the bdx. But I know the ngauge is capable of tire size changes.

Just as a follow up to this thread...

I received my SCT X4 back from SCT this afternoon. It appears that they have decided to replace it entirely. I imagine my other one was not fixable or something? They didn't provide a reason. Unfortunately, none of my tune files from MPT will work with this device because the serial number is different.

So now I get to wait again for MPT to re-make my files and possibly charge me more $ to do so. Pretty frustrating considering that I only ran one of my 3 files for about 50 miles before this device died and it has been in the shop ever since. I am thankful that my truck was in stock mode when the X4 crashed so at least it was drive able. Anyone know of a better device (preferably not made by SCT) that will run tune files and allow for tire size adjustment? I have lost all faith in the X4 and am actually a little scared to connect it to my truck again for fear it will crash mid-tune upload or something and leave me without a vehicle to drive.

Digressing here but how did that custom tune work out that you won from SSI?

Apparently not good if your supporting that Oz tune.

They did the same with mine and it is working perfectly now. I also had to have the serial number updated on my tunes but 5 star did not charge me anything and it was a very fast turnaround. I would be surprised if MPT charged you.

Never used it. Gave it to my son who had put 3 MPT tunes on it and now the Omega tune. He says the Omega tune is hands down better than any MPT tune he had. FWIW, I would never run a SSI tune, but hey, they gave me a free tuner!

When prompted to update the device, can you decline? Or does it automatically update?

You can hit cancel.
It is recommended by SCT that you update prior to uploading custom tune files to the device though.
